Small Pieces of History

Make you way to Upper Borough Walls in Bath and there are a number of places where you can see these letters etched into the walls of the buildings.
A small piece of history in plain sight as you raise your gaze upwards. These are parish boundary markers indicating the area over which a particular church had authority.
These parish boundary markers are thought to date from the 1700’s. The letters stand for St Michael’s Parish and St Peter and St Paul’s Parish, the parish of the abbey.
